Emeral Duane Freeze, born on January 28, 1931, in Aransas Pass, Texas, to J.E. and Clara Freeze, passed away on January 5, 2026. He was a dedicated and hardworking individual, known for his contributions to the community through his work at the San Patricio Municipal Water District.
Emeral’s educational journey began at Aransas Pass High School, where he laid the groundwork for his future endeavors. His career in civil service reflected his commitment to providing essential resources and infrastructure for his community.
An avid enthusiast of ranching and skilled in backhoe services, Emeral embraced his passions both professionally and personally. His hobbies enriched his life and left a lasting impression on those around him. He was particularly proud of his affiliations, having been a valued member of the local chapter of Shriners, reflecting his spirit of service and dedication to helping others.
Emeral is survived by his beloved wife, Sylvia Freeze, and their children: Sandra (Freeze) Hart, Mike (Denyse) Freeze, and Mark (Arletta) Freeze. He was a devoted family man, cherishing his role as a father and a grandfather to four grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren. His legacy will live on through their memories and the values he instilled in them.
Emeral was preceded in death by his parents, J.E. and Clara Freeze, and his sister, Helen.
A graveside service will be held in his honor on January 16, 2026, at 10:00 AM, followed by interment at Bethel Cemetery in Odem, Texas. The service will provide family and friends the opportunity to celebrate Emeral's life and the impact he had on those around him.
