Emil John Levek, 74, passed away peacefully surrounded by his wife, daughter, and immediate family on April 9, 2026. Emil was born and raised in Corpus Christi, TX and was a lifelong member of the K.J.T. and Czech community.
After graduating from Mary Carroll High School in 1971, he married the love of his life, Carol Stein, and immediately began basic training at Lackland Air Force Base. They then moved to Charleston, South Carolina where Emil began his journey as a United States Air Force military policeman. While stationed in Charleston their daughter, Tammy was born.
Following his military service, he moved his family back to Texas where they settled near Agua Dulce and he embarked on a distinguished career as a Senior Draftsman and piping designer in the oil and gas industry. Emil worked for several major engineering firms, plants, and refineries across Texas. While pursuing his career and caring for his family he enjoyed various hobbies. Farming and raising animals were daily activities that Emil enjoyed along with all his tools and equipment. His greatest passion was wood working where he created furniture, cabinets, and craft projects with patience and care for the people he loved. He was known for his quietness, gentleness, warmth, and compassion. Emil fought hard during his 18 months battle with state 4 Esophageal cancer and kidney disease.
With gratitude, the family would like to thank the DaVita Riverside Renal Center staff and Tribute Hospice & Palliative Care team for their gentle care, respect, and the dignity they showed throughout his journey.
Emil is preceded in death by his parents, Joe V. Levek and Elizabeth Frances Vanecek. He is survived by his wife of 55 years, Carol Stein Levek, daughter, Tammy (Keith) McLendon, grandson Logan (Emily) McLendon, granddaughter Bailey (Grady) Reynolds and future great grandson Baby Reynolds.
