Eric Franklin Wilson

Eric Franklin Wilson, 49, of Corpus Christi, passed away on September 2nd. He was born in Pasadena, Texas, on November 28th, 1976 to Brent Wilson and Georganne Wilson.

Eric loved fishing, motorcycle riding, art, skateboarding, woodworking, playing darts and metal arts. Homeschooled, he attended college in Houston at age 17. Growing up, he worked on the family ranch in Buffalo, Texas with his stepfather, Mark Steven Gasaway, DVM and his grandfather, Thurman Stanley Gasaway, raising cattle, cutting hay and running the heavy equipment. He also worked at his father’s veterinary clinic in Houston, where he was especially gifted with animals. Eric helped run and manager an International equestrian Three-Day Event so well that it became the only Three-Day Event in the world permitted to hold two events a year – a record he still holds, 25 years later.

In 2009, he moved to Corpus Christi, where he and his mother founded Your Sign Company LLC. He designed, manufactured and installed custom signage for Texas A&M University, Del Mar College, Microsoft, the Texas State Veterans Cemetery, military bases and many others. He also worked on projects with Dusty Durrill, including the relighting of the Selena Memorial.

Eric was kind-hearted and generous, always reaching out to help others and showing Gods love. He overcame addiction and became a group leader helping others find their way. He had a wonderful sense of humor and if you were with Eric, you were laughing. Everyone who knew Eric, remember his constant smile, humor and laugh.

He is preceded in death by his father, Brent Wilson. 

He is survived by his mother, Georganne Durrill; his stepfather, Mark Steven Gasaway, DVM; his sister, Natalie Shea Rose; his children, Lia Joyce Wilson and Steven Wilson; his uncle, Richard Charles Gasaway; his aunt, Marcella Barnhart; his aunt, Carol Holloway; his niece, Marissa Lynn Gasaway and her son Andrew Michael Uruski; his niece, Amanda Kay Gladden, and her husband, Olin Swaim Gladden II and their son, Luke Swaim Gladden. His cousin, Blake Gasaway; his cousin; Landis Gasaway.

Services will be September 14 at 11 am at Sawyer George funeral Home, with graveside services to follow.
