Ernest Bagnall

Ernest Alfred Bagnall went home to his heavenly Father April 13, 2018. He was born May 1, 1929 in Corpus Christi, Texas to the late Audrey Smith Bagnall and George Collins Bagnall. After graduating from Calallen High School Ernest worked as a Rotary Driller for Liebman-Gibson Drilling Co. Alice, Texas. He then was drafted into the United States Army and served during the Korean War and was stationed in Germany. He returned home after the service and worked in the Oil Field awhile and then went to work for American Smelting Refinery in Corpus Christi and remained there, retiring after 32 years. He felt God had blessed him through out his life. He excepted Christ as a young man and took his faith very serious. Upon marring his beloved wife Doris Nell Robertson Bagnall they work side by side and during their 42 years of marriage they raised three children and brought them up in a Christian home. In addition to his parents he was preceded by his beloved wife Doris Nell Robertson Bagnall, brother, George Bagnall, sister, Hertha Lawson Belyeu, and daughter, Audrey Kay Bagnall Abel. Ernest enjoyed life in the fullest, he got to enjoy football again through Peggy’s four grandsons. He became a Sinton Pirate Fan for many years never missing a game. He was an avid woodworker making everything from pens to furniture and lots of sawdust. He loved traveling, he and Peggy spent the last 16 years going all over the U.S. with Executive Tours and Rockport Tours. He leaves behind many many close friends and buddies. Visitation will be from 5:30 P.M. to 7:00 P.M. Tuesday, April 17, 2018 at the Sawyer-George Funeral Home Chapel. Funeral services will be conducted at 10:00 A.M. Wednesday, April 18, 2018 at the Sawyer-George Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Jody Simmons officiating. Interment with Military Honors will follow at 11:30 A.M. in the Rose Hill Memorial Park Cemetery. He is survived by his loving wife Peggy Lou Bagnall, his beloved sons, Ernest Allen Bagnall (Donna), Sam Collings Bagnall (Rhonda), devoted son-in-law, Carroll Abel, his grandchildren Brittanie Meadows (Justin), Amanda Bagnall (Mike), Samantha Jones (June June), Rene’ James (Drew), Allen Bagnall (Taylor), Laura Minnick (Kyle), Abbi Thompson (Tyler), Stephine Dunn (Mykel), Eva Marie Rodriguez (Franciso). Great grandchildren, Tiffany McGee, Christopher McGee, Hattie Meadows, Mylie Meadows, Miles Ward, Ryleigh Bagnall, Brooke James, Harley Dunn, Augie Dunn, Tayvian Jones, Brandon Minnick, Collins Minnick, Charleigh Thompson, Ethan Allen Bagnall, Kambrie Bagnall and Braelyn Bagnall. His step-children, Margaret Jordan his Skip-Bo partner (Steve) Cheri Ring (Brian), Charles Ray Jones and Jeremie Jones. His step-grand children, Mandy Worden (Daniel), Kim Willows (Bryan), Josh Ring, Wes Ring (Sarah), Tyler Ring and Corey Ring. Step-great grandchildren, Kaylynn Worden, Kiley Worden, Jordan Willows, Hailey Willows and Caroline Ring coming soon. Also 11 nephews and 2 nieces. The family wishes to thank Chaplains Fred Lozo and Steve Williams for their prayers and comfort and Del Cielo Nursing Home Health and Hospice, they made his last weeks better.
