Frances Johnson

d. January 30, 2020

FRANCES ANN ROBERTS JOHNSON, age 92, joined her husband Charlie in heaven on January 30, 2020. Charles Ray Johnson, Sr (Charlie) preceded her in death by 10 years, and they are now celebrating 72 years of marriage. She is survived by her four children, Sue Johnson Prill (James), Charles Ray (Chuck) Johnson, Jr. (Sharon), Jack Roberts Johnson and Roni Kay Bucey (Joel); her grandchildren Allison Prill Ranstead, Tammie Johnson Alvarado, Charles Ray (Bubba) Johnson III, Teri Kay Johnson Rathke, Lane Austin Bucey, Trace Edward Bucey and Kara Ann Bucey; and by numerous great-grandchildren, siblings, in-laws and other relatives. She graduated from Nowata High School in 1945 and began working at Philips Petroleum in Bartesville, Oklahoma. She met Charlie, "the most handsome man she had ever seen", in 1947 and they married a year later. Throughout their marriage, they lived in several towns and states as well as Saskatchewan, Canada until they settled in Corpus Christi 55 years ago. Frances worked in the Tax Office in Robstown ISD and retired in 1991. She loved Charlie, her children and her ever expanding family. She was an avid reader, constantly worked puzzles, crosswords and spent many hours exploring her family genealogy. For Frances, yes meant yes, no meant no and there was no in between. She was a fan of Oklahoma University, the Hallmark channel, Judge Judy and shopping. At her request, there will be no formal service, but an open gathering of friends and family will be held at her home on Sunday February 2 beginning at 12:00. A graveyard service will be held in Nowata, Oklahoma at a future date where she will be interred alongside her beloved Charlie, her parents and other family members.
