Gary Maynard was born December 12, 1934 in Verdunville, West Virginia to Byrd and Anna M Maynard. Preceded in death by both parents, sister Geraldine Saunders, and brother Cum Maynard. He is survived by a sister, Nancy Parker, a brother, Bob Maynard (Louise), 4 children: Nancy Hollingshead (Richard), Diane Hollingshead (Paul), Billy Stansberry, Reginia Maynard, 8 grandchildren and 5 great grandchildren. Gary is also survived by his spouse Betty Maynard, her 5 children: Cindy Chapman, Andrea Visoski (Bill), Jerry Young (Shannon), Larry Young (Crystal), Leslie Alford (Bryan), 12 grandchildren, 3 great grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews. He is remembered by four special friends: Danny and Stephanie Bigbee and Tom and Crystal Jackson.
Gary’s love for others was bigger than life. A member of Northwest Church of Christ, he loved God and would do anything for others. His laughter made you want to join in and laugh with him. He loved to cook and was well known for his Banana Bread, which he baked 4 loaves at a time to share with others. Gary was a man of many talents; daughter Reginia would tell you he could build a bridge out of toothpicks and make anything run with a screwdriver and a rubber band.
He was loved by many and will be deeply missed. Fly high Maynard. I’ll be missing you until we meet again.
