Gloria Ann (Atkeisson) Landen, 99, of Corpus Christi, Texas, passed away peacefully into the arms of Jesus on August 5, 2026.

She was born on February 14, 1927 in Corpus Christi, Texas.  She was a lifelong resident of Corpus Christi, TX.  On New Years Eve in 1945 she met her beloved husband, Cliff Landen.  It was love at first sight for both of them and 4 months later they were married.  They had two children, April and Mark.

Gloria worked at the old Nueces County Courthouse in the tax office and then later at Texas Gold until her retirement.  But her most important job was that of being wife to Cliff and mother to April and Mark, grandma to Ty and Ky and great grandma to Cody and Samantha Shaffer.

She read her pink Bible every day, was active in Grace United Methodist Church and Grace United Methodist Women and numerous Bible studies over the years.

She loved sewing, decorating, working in her garden, keeping her house immaculate, shopping sprees and eating out with friends.

She is survived by her daughter, April Shaffer, daughter-in-law Marilyn Landen of Oklahoma, and grandsons, Ty (Kandy) Shaffer of Natalia, Texas and Ky Shaffer of Corpus Christi, TX and numerous nieces and nephews.

She is predeceased in death by her parents, her husband of 64 years, Clifford Landen, son Mark Landen, and son-in-law, George D. Shaffer.

Funeral services will be conducted on Saturday, August 15, 2026 at 11:00 a.m. at Grace United Methodist Church, 14521 Northwest Blvd., Corpus Christi, TX 78410 with Rev. Paul Harris officiating.
