Inez Phillips

Inez Phillips, 93, of Corpus Christi, Texas, passed away Wednesday, May 12, 2010. She was born October 16, 1916 in Sontag, Mississippi to Jesse M. and Pearl Ann White Douglas. She had worked as a paraprofessional at Mary Carroll High School for 19 years, and was a member of Tuloso-Midway Baptist Church where she had taught the Sunday school class for 4 & 5 year olds for many years. She was preceded in death by her husband of 58 years, Champ Phillips. She is survived by her daughters, Ruby Ann Fairbairn (Jim) of Portland, Texas and Billie Johnson (David) of Corpus Christi, Texas; her grandchildren, Steve Fairbairn, Kendra Lee (Joe), Gil Harris, Jenna Harris and Weston Johnson; four great grandchildren, Hudson, Grady, Kendall and Jack; two sisters, Charlyne Henslee and Chrystene Roberts. Funeral services will be conducted at 2 P.M. Monday, May 17, 2010 in Sawyer-George Funeral Home Chapel with Chaplain Cherie Hopkins officiating. Burial will follow in Memory Gardens.
