James H. Ryland, II, 82, of Corpus Christi, peacefully passed away on Sunday, July 24, 2022 with his loving wife by his side.
James H. Ryland, II, born to James and Louise Ryland on February 13, 1940 in Uvalde, Texas and was member of the Episcopal Church from a very young age.
After James graduated from Uvalde High School, he proudly joined the United States Navy. After the Navy, James returned to Texas and attended A&I University in Kingsville, Texas where he studied chemistry and computers. He then secured a job with Hoechst Celenese.
James had many hobbies and interests throughout his life. He was a member of Toast Masters, thoroughly enjoyed windsurfing, took art and stained-glass classes, and many, many music classes at Del Mar College. He also had time to pursue his music interests locally and took great pleasure in missionary work with Russian orphans.
James retired from Hoechst Celenese after 31 years. James H. Ryland, II was passionate about sharing the love of our Lord with others and was an integral part of The Church of the Good Shepherd. A loyal servant to God, James spent many of his hours dedicating his life to music. He sang in the church choir and played in the Praise Band.
James H. Ryland, II was predeceased in death by his parents, James and Louise Ryland; brother, Robert Ryland; and brother, John Ryland.
James H. Ryland, II is survived by his wife, Sue Ryland; his son, James D. Ryland, his daughter, Heather Ryland; his daughter, Galina Ryland; step-daughters, Marna Sikes and Karine Hayes; grandson Jaxon Sikes; sister, Francis Speer (Garland); brother, Jeff Ryland; sister, Jean Legg, and nieces and nephews.

Services will be held at The Church of the Good Shepherd on Friday, July 29, 2022 at 11:00 a.m. Following the service, interment will be conducted at Seaside Memorial Park at 1:00 pm.
