James William Walton, 71, passed away on Saturday, April 27th after a short and courageous battle with cancer. Jim graduated from Carroll High School in 1960. He married Marjorie Nell Moore on June 3rd 1963. They were married just shy of 50 years. Jim worked for Suntide Refinery, later known as Koch Refinery for 30 years before retiring and beginning a new career at El Paso Gas. He retired from El Paso gas after 10 years. Jim was a faithful member of Riverside church of Christ for nearly 40 years where he was the song leader for many of those years. Jim was a mirror image of Jesus and knew how to treat people with dignity and respect. We wish to give a special thanks to Erin Imhoff, Tommy Haley and Melony Brittain for always being there to help with Jim and his wife Marjorie. He is survived by his loving wife, Marjorie Walton; sons, Clint Walton and wife, Gloria, Clifton Russell Walton and wife, Victoria and James Melton Walton. Grandson, Lance Holt Walton and granddaughter, Laura Lynn Walton. Visitation with the family will be on Tuesday, April 30, 2013 from 7:00 to 9:00 P.M. at Sawyer-George Funeral Home. Funeral services will be conducted on Wednesday, May 1, 2013 at 10:00 A.M. in the Sawyer-George Funeral Home Chapel. Interment will follow in the Seaside Memorial Park. Pallbearers will be Tommy Haley, Steven Brittain, Carlos Ponce, Ray Alaniz, Rogelio Granado, Gary Thomas. Memorials: In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Riverside church of Christ Youth, in care of Riverside church of Christ and placing Youth in the memo section.
