Jesus Ramirez, Jr., known as Jesse, Chuche, Brother, Daddy, Primo, and Popo, passed away on December 15, 2025, in Odem, Texas, surrounded by family in his home. He was born on August 23, 1943, in Agua Nueva, Texas, to Jesus and Librada Ramirez. He graduated from Hebbronville High School, Texas, in the class of 1962. Jesus lived a life rooted in family, hard work, and love. A faithful servant and a devoted provider, he spent his working years at Corpus Christi Barber Shop, Bodine Scott Air Conditioning, the City of Corpus Christi Mechanic Shop, and was blessed to retire from Citgo Refinery.
He was a great husband, father, brother, cousin, and friend who always went above and beyond for others, no matter the circumstance. He never complained or hesitated—he simply gave of himself freely, offering love, help, and support whenever it was needed. He had a deep love for music and writing poetry, often putting his thoughts and feelings into words for the family and friends he cherished. Through his songs and poems, he shared his heart and left behind memories that will continue to resonate with those who loved him.
Jesus was preceded in death by his beloved wife, Oralia Villarreal Ramirez; his father, Jesus Ramirez, Sr.; his mother, Librada Garcia Ramirez; his brothers, Humberto Ramirez and Lazaro Bolivar Ramirez; and his sister, Ana Maria Saenz. He is survived by his daughters, Norma Linda Rodriguez (Robert), Cindy Ramirez Garcia (George), and Nelda Ramirez Garibay (Samuel); eight grandchildren, Jake Garcia, Roel Martinez, Kassandra Velasquez (Jacob), Samson Garibay, Jesse Garibay, Joshua Garcia, Julianna Garcia, and Levi Garibay; and five great-grandchildren, including Renaeyah Martinez, Jacob Velasquez, Julius Velasquez, Avyanna Velasquez, and Aurelius Jesus Velasquez.
Jesus Ramirez, Jr. will forever remain in the hearts of those who loved him, remembered for the love he gave and the life he lived. The family would like to extend their heartfelt gratitude to the doctors and staff at Harbor Hospice for their dedication and attentiveness to our father, especially Dr. Pierce, RN Meghann, RN Michael, RN Leonara, and CNA Paula. A special thank you is also given to our everyday heroes—our fathers’ devoted providers: Roxey Garcia, Debra Martinez, Tosha Romero, Lidia Martinez, Lori Terrell, Kris Viera, Angela Garza, and Krystle Vargas. The love, care, compassion, and dedication shown to him until his final day will forever be appreciated.
