Jo Ann, a beautiful, sweet, and kind flower left that our Garden of Life. Jo Ann Garcia Dominguez was born on October 15, 1939 to her parents Julia Goodyear Garcia and Louis C. Garcia, Sr. in Alice, Texas. She had ten siblings. The girls were noted for their beauty, and the brothers and sisters delighted in the presence of one another.
Jo Ann died at home peacefully on December 24, 2025, surrounded by her daughter, Melanie and grandson, Dustin, who loved her dearly and cared for her the last few months of her life. Her children and great grandchildren adored her and they were her world.Jo Ann’s siblings who pre-deceased her were, Mary Garcia (an infant), Donald Ray Garcia, Larry Garcia, Peggy Jo Garcia Ybarra, and Louis “Sonny” C. Garcia, Jr.Jo Ann and her husband, “Rudy” were married for sixty-one years. Jo Ann retired from the City of Corpus Christi after working there for many years.Nothing pleased her more than to cook for her family and to have the grandchildren and her children around her. She also loved dancing and movies. Her laughter was infectious. She also loved being around friends as they exchanged funny stories.Surviving Jo Ann and wonderful memories of her are her husband, Rudolfo C. Dominguez, Sr. her son, Rudolfo C. Dominguez II., and her daughter, Melanie Rhonda D. Fuentes. The grandchildren who survive and will cherish their grandmother’s memories are: Dustin Fuentes, Steven Dominguez, Adriana Dominguez, and soon to be great granson (Steven).Also surviving siblings are the following: Betty Jean (Ernesto) Albornoz; Linda Lee (Richard)Gomez; Teena (Trey) Naylor; Wanda Kay (Arturo) Garcia.Her sweet demeanor and friendly presence will be greatly missed by family and friends.
