John L. Clark, 91, of Orange Grove, Texas, passed away peacefully on Thursday, August 27, 2026. John was born in Alice, Texas on March 31, 1935, to John and Marjorie Clark. He attended Alice High School where he was very active in sports with his favorite sport being basketball.

John enjoyed spending time with his family, growing a garden, tending to his yard and flower beds and watching sports on TV. John worked for Flint Hills Refinery and retired in 1992 after 31 years of service.

John was preceded in death by his loving wife, Evadean Clark, his son, Ernest Clark, His parents, John and Marjorie Clark, his sisters, Jeraldine Reeves and Juanita Shannen, his brother, Jimmy Clark and his daughter-in-law, Jackie Clark.

John aka Pepaw, is survived by his sons, Dean Clark (Marian), Charles "Bubba" Clark (Jeanette), and Greg Clark (Becky), his sister, Mary Lou Walker, and daughter-in-law, Pam Clark. Pepaw also leaves behind his grandchildren, William (Diane) Clark, Kyleigh (Robert) Johnston, Brendan Clark, Rita, John Clark, Dustin (Reanna) Clark, Ernest (Adriana) Clark, Kori (Jacob) Byerley, Brice (Taylor) Clark, and his bonus grandchildren Chance (Jordann) Sharpe, Weston Sharpe, Anna, Shawna (Jason) Retzloff, Robi (Chris) Owen and Robert Perkins. He is also survived by numerous great-grandchildren and nieces and nephews.

Visitation is scheduled for Thursday, September 3, 2026, from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. at Sawyer-George Funeral Home. A graveside service will be held on Friday, September 4, 2026, at 10 am at Memory Gardens Cemetery.
