John Gordon

John Thomas Gordon, age 77, passed away on Wednesday, June 5, 2019. John was born on January 1, 1942 in Little Rock, Arkansas to Corbin and Ida Gordon. John spent four years in the U.S. Navy and was a Vietnam veteran. He was a corrections officer with the Nueces Sheriff’s Department for 17 years. He loved his family and enjoyed reading, fishing and traveling. He is survived by his wife of 51 years, Dianne, a son, John Jr. (Megan), a daughter Jocelyn (Arlis) Worden, his grandchildren, Jacob (Megan) Worden, Amberly (Sam) Borday, Kelton Worden, Brenna, Conner, and Piper Gordon, and one great-grandaughter, Abbie Worden. John will be greatly missed by his family and friends. Funeral service will be conducted at 10:30 AM on Wednesday, June 12, 2019 at Sawyer-George Funeral Home Chapel with Brother Jody Simmons officiating. Burial with military honors will be at 1:00 PM at the Coastal Bend State Veterans Cemetery.
