Joy Minshew of Corpus Christi, TX, went to join the Lord on February 13, 2026. Joy was born on November 18, 1941, in Fort Worth, Texas. She retired from the Calallen School District. She was always someone you could depend on, and like her name, she was a JOY to be around. She made friends easily and had a wonderful sense of humor. She was extremely intelligent, yet she never seemed arrogant. She was a great listener and made everyone she encountered feel like they were the most important person in her life. Her hobbies were shopping, watching Wheel of Fortune, and reading the Caller-Times - every article from front to back.
Joy is survived by her daughter Cindy (Robert) Adams, son David Minshew (Leslye), grandson Brian Minshew, Sister Theresa (Mike) Smith, her best friend and favorite Niece Lisa (Pat) O'Banion and nephew Trey (Amy) Stevenson; niece's Rona (Joel) Armendariz, Denise (Robert) Lozano and nephew Greg (Dell) Blackmore.
She is preceded in death by her parents, Edward and Eunice Perdue, Brother Roger Perdue, Sister-in-law Sharon Perdue, her husband of 36 years, Roy Minshew, her sister-in-law and brother in-law Robbie and Milton Blackmore.
A special thanks to Tribute Hospice, Reassuring Care, and Pastor Matt Gamez.
