Judith Ann "Judy" Parr (Bubert-Themis)

March 25, 1942 — May 3, 2026

Judith “Judy” Parr (Bubert-Themis), age 84, passed away peacefully into the arms of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ, Sunday May 3, 2026, at her home in College Station, Texas. She was born in San Antonio, Texas on March 25, 1942 and was raised in Robstown, Texas.

Growing up in the Robstown/Corpus area during the 1950’s, she experienced a life enriched by the love and support of devoted parents, her sister Jane, family and close friends, and she cherished those lifelong bonds. She graduated from Robstown High school in 1960, and was a proud “Robstown Cotton Picker”. In elementary school she was a “Majorette”, twirling her baton in parades and other events alongside the “Big Red” marching band. In her high school years she played tennis and participated in numerous school clubs/organizations while she continued participating in the marching band as a flute player. She was an experienced equestrian and loved riding horses. She went on to participate in Barrel Racing events at local youth rodeos. As a young girl her favorite clothing were her jeans, western shirt, chaps, cowboy boots and straw hat. She really wanted to be a “cowgirl” when she grew up. Her summers were filled with backyard slumber parties, dance parties in the garage, and annual stays at Camp Mystic. One of her cherished summer memories would be trips to Garner State Park with several of her best girlfriends. Her dad would load up his pickup truck with “petticoats”, dresses, camping gear and her mother would bring all the girls for a week long adventure.

She graduated from Texas A&M Corpus Christi with a BS in Education and taught Special Education for many years. Throughout her life, she embraced many roles, she was a Homemaker, a Texas Realtor, a Volunteer Firefighter and an EMT. She also faithfully served in Church Ministries and Service organizations, touching countless lives with her compassion, generosity and faith.

She is preceded in death by her father Loyett Collier Parr, mother Mary Frances Stewart Parr, husband James Floyd Themis, youngest daughter Jerri Ann Bubert (Torres- Krames), Great Nephew Blake Melvin Harra, and numerous beloved family members.

She is survived by her first husband, Jerry A. Bubert; her daughters Jamie Bubert (Dennis) Mudd, Nancy Bubert (Robert) Gadbois; sister Jane Parr (Brad) Fuller. She was also blessed with many beloved grandchildren: Amanda Gadbois (Atwell) Goins, Galen (Katie Kramer) Mudd, Melissa Gadbois (Tony) Balzer, Shannon Mudd (Chase), Mary Frances Mudd (Zach) Evenhouse, Joshua (Shelby Storosh) Gadbois, Brandon Mudd, and Weston (Shelby Devilbiss) Gadbois. She was also the proud great grandmother of 15 great grandchildren: Rylan, Kyler and Micah Mudd, Alaina, Bennett and Lilian Evenhouse, Violet Mudd, Laura, Allison and Frances Goins, Hudson and Meredith Balzar, Lincoln, Everett, and Deacon Gadbois.

She will be remembered for her unwavering love of the Lord and the deep love she had for her family and friends. Judy created a "Photo Prayer Book" in which she kept pictures of her children, grand children, friends and family. She wrote prayers for each and used the book as a her personal daily/weekly prayer guide to pray over them. Her life leaves behind a beautiful legacy of love, compassion, and faith, and she will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved her.
