Robstown

In Loving Memory of

Judy Lynn Barber

October 6th, 1958 – July 19th, 2025

Judy was…

Daughter, sister, wife, mother, and friend

She was born in Robstown to Albert and Bernice Baca in the fall of 1958. She was full of life with a carefree spirit, loved the outdoors, cared for all animals, and the absolute, best cook. She would spend hours cooking for her favorite people, her family. Judy was the best dancer no matter what the music – in the earlier years, Chuck and Judy danced almost every weekend at venues all over South Texas.

She has three siblings. One of four sisters, Judy kept her parents busy. She wasn’t afraid of anything or anyone. If there was ever a squabble amongst the four girls, Judy was involved. To this day, all of her sisters love that spirit she had. She would defy all odds, even till the end, with the most beautiful smile. Everyone loved her true, sincere and very giving heart.

Judy was an employee of State National Bank in Robstown for two years and then worked and retired from the Water Office in Robstown to be a stay-at-home mom.

Judy married the love of her life, Chuck Barber, on March 14, 1981. When beautiful Judy started public school, she made instant friends with everyone. It was at Robstown High School where, as a freshman, she met Chuck. They dated for the best part of five years, and no one found the special place in her heart like Chuck. Her most precious gifts were her son Jarrett and her daughter Jennie.

Raising, pre-schooling and cherishing her children occupied most of Judy’s time. She taught them to be the best at whatever they endeavored and guided them to be good Christians.

Reading the bible and sharing her zest and her love of Jesus Christ with anyone who would listen occupied most of her time in her later years. She devoted lots of time and shared most generously with the poor.

Car racing has been in the Barber family since the 1950’s. In the early years of their marriage, Judy was a supportive wife by attending most of Chuck’s racing endeavors with a smile… mostly. After a several year break from racing, Jarrett and Jennie came along and racing became a family affair. This gave Judy a new interest in the sport. Even though Judy did not attend all of the races, she was always eager to hear the racing reports and results.

The family would like to recognize and thank the nurses from Tribute Hospice and Palliative Care and the women caregivers at Vickie’s Group Home. Chuck, Jarrett, and Jennie would like to express their gratitude for all of your friendships and support throughout the years and during this time.

Funeral services entrusted to Sawyer George Funeral Home.
