Kay Havis

Kay Havis passed away April 2, 2024, at 3:10 am, surrounded by the love of her family during her treatment time for an extended illness. She was born in Texas City, to Lester and Virginia Burgett and lived the majority of her life in Victoria, Texas.

Kay spent a portion of her working career at Union Carbide, later on at a dedicated career helping animals as a Veterinary Technician at Victoria Animal Hospital. Her final job as a professional chef combined all of the things she loved doing, cooking; for patrons, family, and friends.

She is survived by her sisters, Genell McMann of Jupiter Florida, and Mary Lou Sumrall, of New Orleans, LA, and her two sons, Les Posey, of Granbury Texas, and Doug Posey, of Corpus Christi, Texas. She leaves the love of several nieces, nephews, and a host of grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

As per Kay's request, no official ceremony will be forthcoming. Anyone wishing to express their loss and love can do so by donating to the Animal Shelter of their choosing, in her name.
