Kennard H. Schanen, age 87, passed away Friday, October 26, 2018 at Windsor-Calallen. He was born January 29, 1931 in Spohn Hospital in Corpus Christi, Texas to Henry and Annie Hoelscher Schanen. He was an Army veteran stationed in Indiana and Germany. He was preceded in death by his parents, a brother Melvin Schanen and two nephews, Frank Maskey and Keith Motl, a brother-in-law, Roy Motl. He is survived by his sisters, Betty (Harry) Maskey of Moulton, Texas and Mary Ann Motl of Visalia, California; his brother, Dr. Giles (Jo Ann) Schanen of Greenville, South Carolina; friend, Ellen Ross and her children of Corpus Christi, Texas; numerous nieces and nephews. Visitation will be on Sunday, October 28, 2018 from 6:00 to 8:00 P.M. at Sawyer-George Funeral Home. The Rosary will be recited on Monday, October 29, 2018 at 10:30 A.M. followed by a Funeral Mass at 11:00 A.M. at St. Anthony Catholic Church in Violet, Texas. Burial will follow at 1:00 P.M. at Seaside Memorial Park in Corpus Christi, Texas.
