Larry Stanley
Bryant
Dec 25, 1960 — Sep 17, 2026
Robstown
Lawrence “Larry” S. Bryant went to his heavenly reward on September 17, 2026, following a valiant battle with ALS.
Larry was born on December 25, 1960, at the Corpus Christi Naval Air Station. He was a proud graduate of the Roy Miller High School Class of 1979. Everyone who knew him well knew that he was a proud Buccaneer—“Once a Buc, always a Buc!” was often heard around him.
Larry was a man of great faith, compassion, and integrity, and a true friend to many. He was a faithful member of St. Thomas the Apostle Catholic Church in Robstown, Texas, where he was also a member of the Knights of Columbus.
Larry had a deep passion for his family, friends, and sports. His favorite teams were the Astros and the Cowboys. He coached his children’s basketball, baseball, and softball teams for many years and attended nearly every middle school, high school, and college game in which his children participated. He was always there to cheer on his beloved children.
Larry enjoyed a long and fruitful career at CITGO Refinery (formally Champlin), spanning 42 years. During his career, he served in a variety of roles, beginning as a dock hand that was afraid of heights to later working in the Safety Department. His dedication to safety earned him the fond nickname “Mr. Safety Man,” a name used affectionately by coworkers, friends, and family alike.
Larry completed his career as an Operational Excellence Manager, a position that allowed him to share his knowledge and mentor new operators. He touched many lives through his strong work ethic, leadership by example, and commitment to helping others improve. He often reminded those around him, “You can never have too many tools in your toolbox.”
Larry’s proudest achievements were his three children and eight grandchildren, who brought him immeasurable joy. They were his pride and joy, and he would have done anything for them. Each one was deeply treasured and loved.
Larry leaves behind to cherish his memory his loving wife of 42 years, Patricia; his children, Kelly (Matt) Winkler, Lawrence “Bucky” (Lauren) Bryant, and Jessica (Marshall) Svetlik; his eight grandchildren, Harper, Brinley, and Tate Winkler; Lawrence “Wren,” Conrad, and Elliot Bryant; and Tucker and Sullivan Svetlik; his sister, Geneva Olson; and his brother, Larry David (Rebecca) Bryant.
He will be reunited in heaven with his mother, Martha Kelly; his father, Larry Bryant; his sister, Lori Landry; mother-in-law Mildred Phillipp; grandparents Nanny, Grandmother & Granddaddy; and many other beloved family members and friends.
Services for Larry will be held at St. Thomas the Apostle Catholic Church in Robstown, Texas. Visitation will begin at 5:30 p.m. on Friday, September 25, 2026, followed by a rosary beginning at 6:30 p.m. A Mass celebrating Larry’s life will be held at 10 a.m. on Saturday, September 26, 2026, with a reception to follow in the IC Hall.
The family extends its heartfelt gratitude to all who offered prayers, thoughts, and support, as well as to the many caregivers who provided Larry with compassionate care. Special thank you goes to Barbara, Erika, and Kat.
