Lee Webster McGuire Jr, age 75, of Corpus Christi Texas, passed away on June 7th 2023. He was born to Lee W McGuire Sr and Gloria Dawn Boyd McGuire on August 31st 1947 in Fayetteville Arkansas. They moved to Corpus Christi in 1954 where his father had a long career at Reynolds metals company.
He graduated from Mary Carroll high School in 1965. He enlisted in the Navy after high School, quickly obtaining the rank of E5 while serving on the USS Mulliphen. After the Navy he went to Spartan Aviation school in Tulsa Oklahoma where he received an aviation maintenance certification. He began his career at Krakow Aviation at the Corpus Christi airport, where he got his private pilots license.
He met his wife Lesli Ramey while they were members at Ayers Street Church of Christ. They moved to Alice Texas and started their family of three children. He worked at South Texas Aviation at the Alice airport for many years. Then he changed work to Stetson Aviation as a parts and sales manager in Kennedy Texas, traveling many miles for 17 years. He moved back to Corpus Christi and retired in 2017. Lesli and Lee were married for 39 years when she passed away.
He enjoyed the boy scouts with his young son John and other interests include planes, music including vinyl records, political discussions, movies including Clint Eastwood, and old military movies. He also enjoyed seeing the Blue Angels air show at the Naval Air Station in Corpus Christi Texas and at multiple locations.
He attended the Morningside Church of Christ in Alice Texas serving proudly as a deacon for many years. Later he became a member of Kings crossing Church of Christ in Corpus Christi Texas.
He was preceded in death by his parents, wife Lesli Ramey McGuire , and nephew Matthew Baker. Lee is survived by his son John McGuire, daughter Andrea McGuire, and daughter Ashley McGuire; sister Donna McGuire Baker (Jim); two grandsons Derek Jr and Duke Shoemake; nephews Marshall Baker and Beau Baker.
He was an amazing Christian husband and dad and instilled the importance of working hard. He will be greatly missed, but now has gone to his forever home.
