Lillian Grant

Lillian Lee Lance Grant, 87, of Robstown, Texas passed away October 23, 2018 at home. She was born on February 27, 1931 in Refugio Texas to Myrtle Lois Coward Lance and William Cleo Lance. She was the youngest of 7 children. She was a proud graduate of Corpus Christi High School Class of 1948. She married the love of her life, Donald “Donnie” Anthony Grant on February 17, 1949. They were married 69 ½ years until his passing on July 30, 2018. She enjoyed being involved in her children, grandchildren and great grandchildren's activities. Lillian was a great cook and enjoyed preparing Sunday dinners for the entire family. She always said there was always room for one more at her table. She battled stage 4 metastatic breast cancer for the last 2 ½ years with grace and strength. She is preceded in death by her husband, Donnie; her parents; sister, Mary Lee Tomlinson; brothers, Billy, JR, Leonard, Earl and her twin brother, Lee Roy Lance; and daughter-in-law, Kelley Hodge Grant. Lillian is survived by her daughter, Barbara (Mark) Davis; son, Robert (Adela) Grant; grandson, Ryan (Abigail) Grant and grandson, Aaron (KC) Grant; great grandson, Luke Smith; great granddaughter, Reba Grant; and special canine companion, Shorty. She also leaves behind her special sister-in-law, Bettiejo Lance; many nieces and nephews; dear friends, Charles and Dora Tenpenny, Patricia Ehrhart and her Manchester family. Special thanks to Carla Trevino and Celeste Rosas for the loving care given to our parents over the last 2 years. The family will receive visitors on Sunday, October 28, 2018 from 2pm-4pm at Sawyer-George Funeral Home. Graveside services will be at Coastal Bend State Veterans Cemetery located at 9974 IH 37 on Tuesday, October 30, 2018 at 11:00 am. A celebration of life lunch will be held after the graveside service at the Grant homestead in Calallen. In lieu of flowers, the family asks donations be made to your favorite charity.
