Louis Daniel Sassman Jr.

Louis Daniel Sassman Jr., a beloved member of the Corpus Christi community, passed away on January 23, 2026, at the age of 87. Born in Robstown, Texas, on June 7, 1938, Louis lived a life deeply marked by service, family, and a passion for the culinary arts.

His distinguished career began with his dedicated service in the United States Air Force, where he proudly served until his retirement. Post-military life saw him transition into various roles, including hotel management, and eventually, he and his wife ventured into running their own liquor store. Louis's professional journey not only exemplifies his diverse talents but also highlights his commitment to serving others.

An alumnus of Robstown High School, Louis cherished his educational experiences and developed a lifelong love for learning. Those who had the pleasure of knowing him remember his vibrant personality, characterized by a love for cooking, traveling, and enjoying comedy films. Louis used his culinary skills not only as a hobby but also as a way to connect with loved ones, often preparing meals that brought joy and togetherness.

A proud member of the Christian Revival Center, Louis found fulfillment and community within his faith. His contributions and spirit touched many lives throughout his involvement in various church activities.

Louis is survived by his children, Terry Schaare and Joan Sassman, who carry forward his legacy. He joins in eternal rest with his beloved wife, Eunice Sassman, and his parents, Edna and Louis Sassman Sr. His memory will also be honored by his late son, Lonnie, and his sisters, Frances Green, Lucille Blumberg, and Alice Morgan.

Visitation services will be held on February 6, 2026, from 11:30 AM to 12:30 PM at Sawyer-George Funeral Home in Corpus Christi. A graveside service will follow at Memorial Park Cemetery in Robstown, starting at 1:00 PM and concluding at 2:00 PM.
