Guadalupe (Garcia) Lopez, known fondly to all as Lupe, passed away peacefully on May 10, 2026, leaving behind a legacy rich with love, laughter, and unforgettable moments. Born on August 7, 1942, in the heart of Floresville, Texas, Lupe was the cherished daughter of Martin Flores Garcia and Virginia Estrada. From the very beginning, her roots in Floresville’s warm embrace shaped a life deeply intertwined with family and community.
Educated within the Floresville Independent School District, Lupe’s dedication to learning forged a path that led her to a meaningful career at Annaville Elementary. For several years, she touched countless young lives with her gentleness and wisdom, leaving an indelible mark on the students and her colleagues alike. Facility Nutrition worker was not just a profession for Lupe; it was a calling that echoed her steadfast commitment to nurturing growth in others.
Beyond her career, Lupe’s passions were numerous and vibrant. She delighted in the simple joys of life—spending cherished hours with her grandkids, crocheting intricate patterns that reflected her patient spirit, and losing herself in crossword puzzles and word searches that sharpened her keen mind. Being in her garden was another passion she loved, she knew every flower she had. Eating out was a treasured ritual, a time to savor flavors and share stories, while gaming sessions with her son and grandchildren brought laughter and connection. Bingo games and spirited shopping excursions with her family she most enjoyed. Quiet afternoons spent reminiscing about days gone by with her late friend Elena Rios painted the rich tapestry of her everyday joys.
Lupe’s home was a haven overflowing with love from her extensive and devoted family. She was the beloved mother of Deborah (Ruben) Portales, Barbara Martinez (John Lugo), Annie (Phillip) Lopez, Norma Ramos, Jonathan (Sandra) Lopez, Lisa Garcia Lopez, Andrew Lopez, and Adrian Lopez. Her heart expanded further through the presence of her grandchildren—Bridgette Rodriguez, Tristan Ruiz, Aria Nunez, Demi Ruiz, JJ Martinez, Savannah Ramos, Mariah Ramos, Miranda Portales, Amadeus Martinez, Adam Lopez, Natalie Lopez, Ruben A Portales, Eris Lopez, Jade Lopez, Esme Lopez, Joel Lopez, and Aubrey Lopez—and the delight of her great-grandchildren, Cade Rodriguez, Triton Ruiz, Tauriel Ruiz, and Eden Rodriguez.
Lupe's journey was deeply touched by the memory of her late husband, Anastacio S. Lopez, whose spirit she carried with her through all seasons of life. Though numerous brothers and sisters have departed this world, Lupe was blessed to continue the bonds with her living siblings Margarito E. (Olga) Garcia and Martiriano E. Garcia.
Her story is one of enduring love, unwavering faith, and a vibrant spirit that never dimmed. Guadalupe “Lupe” Lopez’s life was a testament to the profound beauty found in everyday moments and heartfelt connections. In her passing, she leaves behind an echo of warmth and devotion, a radiant light that will guide her family and friends forever.
As those who loved her gather to honor her memory, they celebrate a woman whose heart knew no bounds, whose laughter warmed every room, and whose legacy is etched in the souls she touched. Lupe’s spirit will live on in the stories shared, the lessons imparted, and the love that continues to blossom across generations.
