Lynn Scott

Lynn Dale (L.D.) Scott of Corpus Christi, Texas passed away Tuesday, August 10, 2010 after living a very full and productive 87 years. He was born January 18, 1923 in Yowell, Texas to Frank and Niva Johnson Scott. He resided in Yowell until he joined the Navy to serve in World War II. After serving four years in the Navy he moved to Corpus Christi where he started his own contracting business and became well known in the community for both residential and commercial construction. He loved to work but still found time for hunting, spending time at the ranch and going on Mission trips to Mexico with the River Hills Ministries. He was a devoted husband, a loving father, a well-known builder in the surrounding area and a God-loving man who will be missed by all who knew him. He is preceded in death by his parents and one brother, Gordon Scott. He is survived by his wife, Joan Scott; two sons, Denny Scott (Joyce) and Jerry Scott; two step-sons, Curtis Rogers (Leslie) and Daymon Rogers (Sherry); sister, Joyce Murrill; nine grandchildren and two great-grandchildren. Visitation will be from 2:00 P.M. to 9:00 P.M. Friday, August 13, 2010 at Sawyer-George Funeral Home, 12497 Leopard St., Corpus Christi, Texas with the family present form 6:00 P.M. to 8:00 P.M. Funeral services will be conducted at 10:00 A.M. Saturday, August 14, 2010 at River Hills Baptist Church, 16318 FM 624 with Bro. Bill Simmons officiating. Interment will be at 2:00 P.M. at La Rosa Cemetery in Woodsboro, Texas. In lieu of flowers the family request donations be made to the American Cancer Society.
