Margaret Ann Wilson (Preston), passed away on September 29, 2026. She was born on November 7, 1941, in Corpus Christi, Texas, and lived a life centered on faith, family, and devoted care for those she loved.
Margaret attended Sundeen High School in Corpus Christi. She was a homemaker and a true helpmate to her husband, a role she carried with steady love and grace throughout their 66 years of marriage. She found joy in the work of her hands and heart—sewing, cooking, teaching 2-year-olds at church, hosting family dinners, preparing food for church events, and attending church faithfully. She was a member of Annaville Baptist Church, where her life of service and fellowship reflected the warmth and generosity that so many came to know. Margaret loved her family deeply, treasured visiting with her friends, and enjoyed going on trips with Dad, creating memories that will be held close for years to come.
She is survived by her beloved husband, Boyd Wilson; her sons, Dennis Wilson and Ernest Wilson; her son, Lee Roy Wilson, and his wife, Mary; and her daughter, Leila Ann Dunn, and her husband, Marc. Her family also includes her niece Tracy Schenk, her nephew Thomas Schenk, and her niece Candy Burrell. She leaves behind cherished grandchildren Sarah Wilson, Laura Catherman, Cate Dunn, Preston Dunn, Jennifer Simmons, Zach Simmons, and Ben Collins, as well as her great-grandsons Daniel Catherman and Luke Catherman. Margaret’s love was felt around the table, in quiet conversations, in church hallways, and in the simple, faithful ways she cared for others. Those who knew her will remember a woman whose home and heart were always open.
She was preceded in death by her mother, Leila Ann Dunn and Marc; her father, Samuel Preston; her sisters, Maude Schenk and Iris Freiser; her brothers, Don Cooper and Richard Cooper; and her niece, Mary Kay Schenk.
Visitation will be held on October 15, 2026, from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. at Sawyer-George Funeral Home, 12497 Leopard St, Corpus Christi, Texas 78410.
