Mark S. Hayek, 51, of Corpus Christi, Texas, passed away Sunday, September 19, 2010. He was born June 6, 1959 in Corpus Christi, Texas. Mark was a lifelong Nueces County farmer. He was an avid hunter and enjoyed his hunting trips to New Mexico. Mark was active in FFA, 4-H and the Nueces County Junior Livestock Show and with Coastal Bend Gin. He was preceded in death by his grandparents, Joe W. Hayek, and Fritz and Agnes Miller, and his uncle, Robert Lee Hayek. He is survived by his wife of 23 years, Imogene Hayek; his children, Cassie, Brody and Sarah Hayek; his granddaughter, Annabelle Sophie Hayek; his parents, Edward and Lela Hayek; his grandmother, Lillie Hayek; all of Corpus Christi, Texas; his sister, Lori (Jeffrey) Barrett of Poulsboro, Washington; his nieces, Kate and Tristen Barrett; his aunts, Wilma Hayek of San Antonio and Fritzie (Cecil) McGregor of Corpus Christi, Texas; his uncles, David (Regina) Hayek of Friendswood, Texas and Fritz Miller of Corpus Christi, Texas; his grand dogs, Jewels, Budro and Jill. Visitation will be from 10 A.M. until 7 P.M. with the family present from 5 P.M. until 7 P.M. Thursday, September 23, 2010 at Sawyer-George Funeral Home. Funeral services will be conducted at 10 A.M. Friday, September 24, 2010 at Sawyer-George Funeral Home Chapel with Pastor Jeffrey Thompson officiating. Burial will follow in Memory Gardens. Pallbearers will be Bernie Mokry, Tony Petri, Maynard Menn, Jr., David Ainsworth, Sr., Charlie Farek, Larry Hellmann, Peter Tischler and Andrew Tischler. In lieu of flowers, friends are asked to make contributions to the charity of your choice.
