Mary Margaret King

Mary Margaret King, Age 77, of Corpus Christi, Texas, passed away on December 31, 2025. She was born on June 29, 1948, in Corpus Christi, Texas to the late Vernon Louis and Margaret Anna (Everhart) King. She is preceded in death by her four brothers and one sister, Richard Louis King, William (Bill) Walter King, Durell Elly King, Joyce Marie Crossland and Raymond Gordon King. 

Mary is survived by her daughter, Maggie Prejean and one granddaughter McKalie Prejean and one sister Doris Richardson (Terry), Orange Grove, Texas. She also leaves behind a large family of nephews nieces and great nephews and nieces. 

Mary grew up in the Calallen area and loved it dearly. She was also a member of the Calallen Baptist Church. She was loved by so many and she touched so many lives while working at the Calallen Baptist Day Care Center for 35 years and taught Nursery through Pre-K students. She was a Christian in Christ and it reflected in her daily life and work to each and every one and especially to the precious children that passed through her classes. She will dearly be missed for all her words of encouragement and pure love. 

Her greatest joy, though, came from being “Nana” to her granddaughter McKalie. 

The family would like to thank Windsor Calallen Nursing Home who provided exceptional care and compassion during Mary’s 2 ½ year stay and final days. 

A Memorial Graveside Service celebrating the life of Mary King will be announced at a later date and will be held at the Sons of Hermann in Orange Grove, Texas. 

In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be given to Calallen Baptist Church or of their preference.
