Mary Bernadette Kuhn

September 24, 1936 — June 26, 2025

Corpus Christi

Mary Bernadette Martine Kuhn ascended to our lord on June 26 at the age of 88 after a long battle with dementia. She was a life long resident of Corpus Christi and made her home in the Annaville area. She passed away peacefully at Harbor Hospice facility.

She was born in Raymondville, Texas on September 24, 1936 to Nick and Veronica Martini and was the youngest daughter of 11 children. She grew up in the Rio Grande Valley where she met her future husband, Bobby, and was married to him for 49 years until his passing in 2005.

For years Mary enjoyed bowling, walking Guth Park, and riding her bike. She was an amazing cook and was well known for her baking and candy making. Her family will always remember her for Family Sunday dinner where she hosted her children and all the grandchildren for many years. Holidays were always special events whether it was Easter, Thanksgiving or Christmas Eve, special meals were always prepared along with pies and cakes, always a special treat.

After her husband Bobby retired, the couple continued their travels in their motor home and made several memorable trips throughout the US and Canada. She was a devout Catholic and could always be found volunteering at the church as a caring and nurturing person who was always ready to help her elderly neighbors in need.

She is survived by her children, Ronny (Cindy) Kuhn of Port Aransas, TX; Mike (Susie) Kuhn of Portland, TX; Brenda (David) Schumacher of Corpus Christi, TX and Dona (Willis) Jernigan of Rogers, AR; grandchildren Ryan Kuhn, Jaime (Martin) Dossett, Nicole Kuhn, Eric Kuhn, Stephanie (Chad) Caldwell, Stephen (Shannon) Schumacher, Heather (Michael) Higgins, Cory (Erin) Jernigan; 19 great grandchildren; her sister, Theresa Kennedy and brother, Raymond Martini.

Mary was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, Bobby and 8 brothers and sisters.
