Mary Pierce

Mary Jo Kidd Pierce, 93, of Corpus Christi, Texas passed away Saturday, August 18, 2018. She was born December 14, 1924 in Iowa Park, Texas to R. B. and Nonnie Mae Kidd and was raised in Freer, Texas. Mary Jo and R. D. lived in Mission, Texas where they raised their children. She worked for 25 years and retired from Sears in McAllen, Texas. They moved to Calallen/Corpus Christi in 1998 to be closer to their family. She was an active member for 30 years of Grace United Methodist Church. She resided in River Ridge Care Center for the past three years. She is preceded in death by her loving husband of 53 years, R. D. Pierce; and sweet daughter-in-law, Tara Pierce. She is survived by her sister, Dorothy Montgomery; two sons, Michael (Karen) Pierce and Ricky Pierce; one daughter, Jody (Ronnie) Eason; grandchildren, Doug Vance, Jennifer (Jeff) Miller, Chance (Tanya) Pierce, Ryder (Jennifer) Pierce, Ryan Pierce, Kathleen (Matthew) Georg, Ronnie Mack Eason, Kimmie (Paul) Pledger, Ashley (Stephen) Davis, Aubrey (Sterling) Brown; great grandchildren, Greg, Taylor and Kristen Vance, Halie and Emma Pierce, Haylee and Kaylee Mathas, Cole, Rebecca and Madison Georg, Cael and Thadd Eason, Derrick and Bailey Pledger, Pierce Davis, Brighton and Carrington Brown; three great great grandchildren, Grayson and Astoria Vance and Brinley Pledger; and a large extended family that loved and adored their Nanny. Visitation will be from 5 P.M. until 7 P.M. Tuesday, August 21, 2018 at Sawyer-George Funeral Home Chapel. Funeral services will be conducted at 10 A.M. Wednesday, August 22, 2018 at Grace United Methodist Church with Rev. Jason Fry officiating. Graveside services will be conducted at 3 P.M. Wednesday August 22, 2018 at Valley Memorial Gardens in Mission, Texas with Bro. Ralph Green, III officiating. Mary Jo loved flowers and we also want to support the Alzheimer’s Association, 3649 Leopard Street, Suite 403, Corpus Christi, Texas 78408 in memory of Mary Jo Pierce. Our family is forever grateful for the friendship and time Linda Goulet invested in our Nanny.
