Mary Ann Wallace Reeves, 83, of Corpus Christi, passed away peacefully surrounded by family on Tuesday, July 21, 2026. She was born on February 19, 1943, in Freer, Texas, and was raised in Alice, Texas. She graduated from William Adams High School in 1961 and attended Southwest Texas State University. Mary Ann worked as a probation officer for Jim Wells County and later at the King Ranch office before retiring from the Texas Farm Bureau Insurance.

Mary Ann was preceded in death by her father, Delbert Ray Wallace; her mother, Floyd Smith Wallace; her sisters, Geneva Cook and Jody Baker; her brother-in-laws, Royce Baker, Royce Reeves, and Wendell Reeves; and her son, Russell Reeves.

She is survived by her devoted husband, Curtis Leon Reeves; her brother, Butch Wallace and wife Cathy; her brother-in-law, George Reeves and wife Gaye and sister-in-law, Agnes Reeves; her children, Wayne Bennett, Scott Reeves and wife Elizabeth, Jennifer Herrmann and husband Scot, former daughter-in-law Kimberly Ritz; her beloved grandchildren, JC (Kerri) Reeves, Danielle (Chris) Clement, Noah Reeves, Luke (Erica) Reeves, Blake Reeves, Faith Reeves, Hope (Bryson) Schubert, Curtis Reeves, Joy Reeves, Landon Herrmann, Rena Reeves, Logan Herrmann, Lyric Reeves, Lily Reeves, and Lucy Reeves; her cherished great-grandchildren, Theo, Daisy, Maple, Fern, Roger, and Bruce Reeves; dearly loved nieces and nephews: Kenny Baker, Karel Dell Donahoe, Connie Ottis, Kimberly Baze, Garrett Wallace, and Geneva Switzer; as well as many other dearly loved family and friends.

God blessed Mary Ann with a beautiful life, and she filled it by loving others well. She adored her husband, Curtis, and often said she knew she had been blessed with a one-of-a-kind man. Together they built a home centered on faith, family, laughter, and unconditional love.

Family was the greatest joy of Mary Ann's life. She treasured every opportunity to spend time with her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren. Lovingly known as "Moe" to her grandchildren, she celebrated each of them with unwavering pride. She never met a stranger, and no conversation was complete without proudly sharing the latest accomplishment or adventure of one of her grandchildren, whether she was visiting with friends at church, standing in the grocery store checkout line, or chatting in a doctor's waiting room. She rarely missed a ballgame, school performance, birthday, or milestone celebration, believing that showing up was one of the greatest ways to show love.

Mary Ann had a servant's heart and found happiness in caring for those she loved. Whether helping a family member, babysitting her beloved "grand dogs," preparing some of her famous chicken fried steak, or simply being there when someone needed her, she gave generously of her time, energy, and heart.

She delighted in celebrating the people she loved. Birthdays, holidays, baby showers, anniversaries, and every special occasion deserved to be remembered with the perfect card or carefully chosen gift. Christmas was especially dear to her, and she spent countless hours searching for just the right present for every member of her family. Nothing brought her more joy than seeing the smiles on the faces of those she loved.

If there was a family gathering, Mary Ann was almost always the one behind the camera, making sure every smile and memory was captured. Those countless photographs are now a treasured gift to her family, preserving the memories she worked so hard to keep alive.

Mary Ann possessed a quick wit and a wonderful sense of humor that could leave a room roaring with laughter. She loved shopping, enjoyed a cold Dr Pepper, and made ordinary moments feel special. Her laughter, her stories, and the joy she brought to those around her will be remembered just as dearly as the love she gave so freely.

A faithful member of St. Andrew's Episcopal Church, Mary Ann loved the Lord and lived out her faith through generosity and genuine care for others. She cherished the friendships she built through her church family and found joy in worship and fellowship. Her family rejoices in the promise that she is now resting peacefully in her eternal home, reunited with those who have gone before her and in the presence of the Savior she loved.

Mary Ann's greatest legacy is not found in the years she lived, but in the lives she touched. Her family was the center of her world, and they will forever carry with them her love, her laughter, her traditions, and the countless memories she helped create. Though her presence will be deeply missed, the example she set of loving wholeheartedly, celebrating life's moments, and always showing up for the people she loved will continue for generations.
