Mildred Vollmering

Mildred Doris Cowan Vollmering, 89, of Corpus Christi, Texas, passed away Friday, August 27, 2010. She was born September 11, 1920 in Eastland, Texas to Joseph Howard and Hattie Elizabeth Miller Cowan. Mrs. Vollmering lived in Jim Hogg and Zapata Counties for most of her life. She was preceded in death by her husband, Christian F. Vollmering on December 3, 2004. She is survived by her three children, Gary (Sue Jo) Vollmering, Sidney (Sherri) Vollmering and Sandra (Fred) Orum; her grandchildren, Kathy (Walter) Nickel, Barbara Vollmering, Todd Vollmering, Courtney (Jeff) Blankinship, Jason (Susan) Vollmering, Craig (Christina) Lancaster, Sheryl (Tim) McBride; her great grandchildren, David Nickel, Jonathon Nickel, Bethany Nickel, Amanda Vollmering, Miles Serman, Dawson Blankinship, Pierce Blankinship, Stephanie Vollmering, Skylar Vollmering, Jaycee Vollmering, Cammarie Lancaster, Collin Lancaster, and Natalie (Marcus) Lomax; two great-great grandchildren, Marcus Lomax, II and NaTae’ Lomax. Visitation will be from 2 P.M. until 5 P.M. Sunday, August 29, 2010 and from 10 A.M. until service time on Monday, August 30, 2010 at Sawyer-George Funeral Home. Funeral services will be conducted at 3 P.M. Monday, August 30, 2010 at Sawyer-George Funeral Home Chapel with H. D. Simmons officiating. Graveside services will be conducted at 10 A.M. Tuesday, August 31, 2010 at Green Hill Cemetery in Hebbronville, Texas.
