New Gordon Noakes Jr., 62, of Calallen, Texas, passed away on December 17, 2021, with his mother and sister by his side. He was a son, brother, father, grandfather and friend to many. He was born in Corpus Christi, Tx on October 21, 1959 to New Gordon Noakes and Patricia “Pat” Noakes. Gordon, as everyone called him, attended Calallen High School. He also attended Del Mar College right after high school.
Gordon had many different jobs and hobbies over his life. He was always willing to lend a helping hand to anyone, when it was needed. He drove 18 wheelers for a few years early in his adult life. Gordon also worked for many different people and places. He was a very hard worker and valued by his employers such as Bill Bonner, Don Benick, Western Auto, Valero and Lowman Land clearing to mention only a few. Gordon had no problem helping someone that was in need of work, as he had many helpers as well. He mostly enjoyed mowing yards and chopping wood for several customers such as Cotton’s BBQ, The Lowe Ranch and for the NCJLS BBQ Cook Off. You could usually see him driving around Calallen with trailer and lawn mower in tow, he was always on the go. He enjoyed a big cup of sweet tea, chatting with friends whenever he saw them or at breakfast every week. He also enjoyed the company of his sons, grandkids and his one and only daughter in law, all of whom he was so proud of. His laugh was one of a kind and we will miss it along with his big hugs. He was so blessed to have such an amazing mother who devoted so much time to him over his life. He lived a simple life and wouldn’t have had it any other way. He will be so missed…
