Nina Elizabeth Walker Needham, 100, was called home to be with the Lord on April 4, 2026. She was born in Ben Franklin, Texas, on April 20, 1925, to James Austin and Laura Euginia Walker, and was the youngest of three siblings and the only daughter. After graduating from Cooper High School during World War II, Nina relocated with her parents to Dallas.
She met Elton R. Needham when her brother Leonard introduced them while both were on leave from basic training in Wichita Falls. They married on August 3, 1945, in Corpus Christi following Elton's return from military service. Their marriage lasted 74 years and together they had two children. In the 1950s, the family moved to the Tuloso-Midway/Calallen area, where Nina later worked as an office nurse for Dr. Henry Hand for more than thirty-five years. Nina and Elton shared a passion for hunting, fishing, skeet shooting, and traveling, spending numerous summers in Alaska with friends.
Nina was predeceased by her husband Elton, her parents, her brothers James Clyde and Leonard Walker.
She is survived by her children, Patricia Massey of San Angelo, Donnie Needham and wife Fotine of Boerne; grandchildren, Gina Webber and husband Dyer Parker of Live Oak, Florida, Jimmy Needham and wife Kelly of Cedar Hill, David Needham and wife Samantha of Houston; great grandchildren, Desiree Webber, Jalen Parker, Lively Needham, Sophia Needham, Benjamin Needham, Isaac Needham, Nicholas Needham, Ira Needham and great-great grandson Malachi Graham Jr.
