Patricia A. Holland

March 4, 1944 — January 7, 2024

Robstown

Patricia Ann Holland, age 79, passed away January 7, 2024.  She was born on March 4, 1944 to George and Elsie Prochaska in Corpus Christi, Texas.   Patsy was raised on their farm near Robstown, Texas.

Patsy graduated from St. John Nepomucene Catholic School in Robstown.  She was the valedictorian of her class in 1962.  She attended Our Lady of the Lake University in San Antonio.  In the year 2000, she received associate degrees from Del Mar College in Network Technology and Microcomputer for Business.  She graduated Magna Cum Laude in both.

Patsy was very active in her church.  For many years she devoted her time to the annual church bazaar and other projects at St Peter’s Catholic Church in Annaville.  In later years she moved to her childhood home, her parents’ farm, and gave most of her free time to St. John’s Catholic Church in Robstown.

Patsy had a passion for gardening.  She joined the Corpus Christi Rose Society in the early 80s.  She was elected to almost every office and was given the title of Consulting Rosarian. She was always willing to visit someone’s home to help them with their roses.  She was co-editor of the monthly rose bulletin for four years. She took the American Rose Society Judges class and passed with flying colors.  At that time she was exhibiting at rose shows and won many trophies.  She was nominated for and won Outstanding Judge for her local district.  She was invited to judge in several states and to judge at national rose shows due to her reputation as one of the top judges in the US.  In 1989 she became a Texas Master Gardener which added to her horticulture knowledge.

Patsy was married twice.  Her first husband and father of her children was Robert Clegg Paschal.  They were married 34 years.  Her second husband was Larry Holland.  They were married 11 years, until Larry passed away in 2010.

Patsy was a devoted mother to her three children.  She was active in their schools and in all their extracurricular activities.  She was president of the PTA at Calallen Middle School.  Patsy coached her daughter’s softball teams for years.  She was Team Mom for her sons' Little League teams as well.  She did much to support the Calallen sports’ fundraisers, making chili or whatever was needed. Doing whatever was needed sums up her work ethic in all areas of her life.

Patsy was also a wonderful grandmother.  Her grandchildren’s friends knew her as the grandma who came to everything her grandkids did.  She never missed any sort of performance or sporting event if she could help it.

Patsy is preceded in death by her parents, George and Elsie Prochaska, and her brother Dr. Fred Prochaska.

She is survived by her daughter Jennifer (Andrew) Kenner and her sons Robert (Sherri) Paschal Jr., Matthew (Linda) Paschal, grandchildren Holden Paschal, Mason Paschal, Noah Kenner, Rachel Kenner, brother George (Sandy) Prochaska, sister Jeanette (Tom) Mazza, numerous nieces and nephews and many dear friends.

Visitation will begin at 6pm on Monday, January 15, 2024 at Sawyer-George Funeral Home. Recitation of the Rosary will be at 7pm and lead by Patsy’s cousin,  Mary Catherine Fuchs and Patsy’s dear friend and college roommate Rosemary Grulke. The Funeral Mass will celebrated at 10:00 a.m. Tuesday, January 16, 2024, at St. John Nepomucene Catholic Church.  The church is located at 603 North First Street in Robstown, Texas.  Interment will follow at Memorial Park in Robstown, Texas.  Pallbearers will be her sons Robert Paschal, Jr. and Matthew Paschal, her nephews Rick Prochaska and Jeremey Mazza, her son-in-law Andrew Kenner and her grandson Noah Kenner.

The family would like to express thanks to the staff of Elan Corpus Christi for their loving care.
