Patrick “Daniel” Byerly, a beloved member of his community, passed away peacefully on September 12, 2024, at the age of 76. Born on September 26, 1947, Dan was a devoted father, grandfather, and great-grandfather who touched many lives with his kindness and generosity.
A devout Catholic, Dan was deeply involved in his church, where he found great joy and purpose in serving others. His faith was a cornerstone of his life, guiding him through both cheerful and challenging times.
Dan had a profound love for animals, especially dogs, who were his constant companions on his ranch. He spent countless hours tending to his land, finding peace and fulfillment in the simple pleasures of ranch life. Dan cherished being outdoors, whether it was working on his next project or simply enjoying nature’s beauty.
One of Dan’s favorite pastimes was having breakfast at the local Mexican restaurant, always accompanied by a hot cup of coffee and a group of friends. These moments brought him great happiness and were a testament to his love for life.
Dan was blessed with a loving family. He was preceded in death by his parents, Maurice and Charlotte Byerly, and his sister, Mary Katherine Davis. He is survived by his brother, James (Jennifer) Byerly, three children, Shawn (Colleen) Byerly, Kerry (Donna) Byerly, Bridget (Toby) Smith, six grandchildren, Kelly Byerly, Kaitlin Byerly, Jacob (Kori) Byerly, Kyle (Stephanie) Byerly, Casey (Aubree) Warren, Kendall (Lauren) Smith, many great-grandchildren, and longtime companion, Gladys Brandt and her family, all of whom cherished their time with him and will carry his memory in their hearts.
Family and friends are respectfully invited to attend the visitation for Dan from 5-7 pm at Sawyer-George Funeral Home on September 19, 2024, with a rosary beginning at 7 pm. The funeral service will be held the following day at St. Peter, Prince of the Apostles, Catholic Church on September 20, 2024, beginning at 10 am. A graveside service will be held immediately after at Saint Patrick's Catholic Church Cemetery.
Dan will be remembered for his unwavering faith, his love for his family, and his zest for life. He will be deeply missed by all who knew him.
