Paula Jean Darden Neill, age 79 of Corpus Christi, Texas passed away peacefully on October 3, 2020 with her family by her side.
She was born to Connie and Pauline (May) Darden on February 9, 1941 in Loraine, Texas.
Her advanced education was primarily self-taught or obtained through on-the-job training programs and certifications, as she became recognized as an engineering inspector and then, a decade later, returned to formal education, earning her high school diploma.
Paula had many hard-working jobs during her life, but the one she was most proud of was when she became one of only two female inspectors on the Apollo spacecraft.
She is survived by two daughters; Teri (Susie) Sundman of San Antonio and Tanna Kaye (T.K.) Hirrill of Haughton, La. Additionally, Paula is survived by eight grandchildren and fourteen great-grandchildren, two brothers; Walt Darden and Ken Darden and two sisters; Pat Patterson and Betty Bevis as well as her dearest friend and closest companion, Bobby Gunter.
She was preceded in death by both her parents and three brothers; Wayne Darden, Dink Darden, Eddie Darden and one sister; Ila Brown.
When Paula wasn't working hard to provide for her daughters, she was busy creating. She enjoyed cooking and doing various crafts to give to friends and family. She enjoyed listening to and going to country music concerts and attending the IceRays Hockey games.
The family will be having a small, private, ceremony - and looks forward to reuniting with her one day - due to her profession in The Lord Jesus Christ for her salvation.
The family would like to thank Nurses on Wheels and Home Instead for the compassionate care provided during Paula's final days.
