A proud alumnus of Miller High School, class of 1958, Perry exemplified the values of hard work and dedication throughout his life. He served his country honorably in the United States Air Force, embodying the principles of service and commitment to his nation. After his military service, he built a successful career at Reynolds Aluminum, where he was known for his strong work ethic and unwavering integrity.
Perry had a profound love for the outdoors, finding joy in fishing and hunting. These hobbies not only brought him pleasure but also served as a way to bond with family. His family was at the center of his universe; after being married to Carolyn Blackmon for 64 wonderful years, they shared a life rich with love and laughter. Together, they nurtured a family that continues to grow, including their sons David (Brenda) Blackmon, Jimmy Blackmon, Cody (Katie) Blackmon, and daughter April (Frankie) Blackmon Thomas. Perry was also a proud grandfather of seven grandchildren and cherished great-grandfather to thirteen great-grandchildren.
Perry is preceded in death by his parents, James and Ethel Mae Blackmon, and his son, Travis Wade Blackmon. His legacy endures in the hearts of those who had the privilege of knowing him, and he will be remembered for his unwavering love for his family, his devotion to his work, and his zest for life.
Funeral services for Perry Wade Blackmon will be held at Sawyer-George Funeral Home, located at 12497 Leopard St, Corpus Christi, TX 78410. Visitation will take place from 12:00 PM to 12:30 PM on September 4, 2025, followed by a funeral service at 12:30 PM. A graveside service will follow at Memorial Park Cemetery, located at 4607 FM1889, Robstown, TX 78380, commencing at 2:00 PM.
Perry Wade Blackmon will be deeply missed but fondly remembered by all who knew him. His spirit will live on through the love shared within his family and the countless memories created together.
