Rae Emily Cunningham

Rae Emily Overand Cunningham, 93, went to be with the Lord on February 7, 2022.

Rae Emily was born August 21, 1928, in Covington, Kentucky to parents, Raymond Overand and Elizabeth Leslie Overand, both deceased. She and her parents moved to the Rio Grande Valley where she graduated from Donna Elementary School in 1942. She and her mother moved to Brownsville, Texas, graduating from Brownsville High School in 1947, where she enjoyed playing in the Band. She attended Texas A & I University for a year and a half before she met and married Pete Cunningham and started her family.  She earned her Associate Degree in Arts in 1968 from Del Mar College in Corpus Christi, Texas.

She loved to follow her boys during their athletic activities while in their school years.  She also loved to play bridge with friends and the Mobil Wives Clubs.

Left to cherish her memory, W, B, (Pete) Cunningham, Sr., her husband of 73 years; three sons, W. B. (Pete) Cunningham, Jr., Sammy Ray Cunningham and Gary Alan Cunningham;  eight grandchildren and thirteen great-grandchildren.

The later years of her life she enjoyed the peace and quiet of her country home in Jim Wells County.

There will not be a funeral at this time.  A memorial service is planned for later in the year.
