Ray Myers

Ray Myers, age 89, of Corpus Christi, Texas passed away February 7, 2011. He was born March 11, 1921 in Rosebud, Texas to Willie and Georgia Myers. Mr. Myers attended Stephen F. Austin University where he held the track record for the 440 dash in the Lone Star Conference for twenty years. He was a school principal and coach in Mission, Texas and was a school principal in Premont, Texas. He was preceded in death by a son, Michael Myers and is survived by his wife, Pauletta Myers of Corpus Christi, Texas; son, Richard (Nancy) Myers of Dallas, Texas; daughter, Heidi (Michael) Lawrence of Comanche, Texas; daughter-in-law, Cindy Burke of Dallas, Texas; grandchildren, Mitch, Whit, Lanie, Chad and Ellen. Visitation will be on Wednesday, February 9, 2011 from 5:00 to 8:00 P.M. at Sawyer-George Funeral Home. Funeral services will be conducted on Thursday, February 10. 2011 at 10:00 A.M. at Grace Methodist United Church with Rev. Stan Whites officiating. Interment will follow in the Memory Gardens Cemetery.
