Romeo Rocha, a dedicated mechanic and Army veteran, passed away on May 5, 2026. Born on January 27, 1947, Romeo lived a life marked by hard work, service, and a passion for the outdoors.
Romeo completed his high school education in Hebbronville, where he cultivated a strong foundation that would support his lifelong dedication to his trade and family. He built a steady career as a mechanic at Holt Caterpillar, demonstrating skill and commitment that earned him respect from colleagues and clients alike. Outside of his professional endeavors, Romeo was known for his handyman skills and enjoyed spending time outdoors, a reflection of his practical nature and appreciation for the natural world.
His service in the Army exemplified his loyalty and dedication to his country—a valued part of his life’s journey. Romeo’s contributions as a veteran are an enduring testament to his character and sense of duty.
He is survived by his brother Ramiro Rocha of Destin, Florida; his sister Maricela of Hebbronville; and his brother Rene Lavedo. Romeo was preceded in death by his parents, whose memory he cherished.
A graveside service to honor Romeo’s life will be held on May 19, 2026, at 10:00 a.m., at the Coastal Bend State Veterans Cemetery located at 9974 I-37, Corpus Christi, Texas. This service reflects the respect and gratitude for a man who served both his community and country with distinction.
Romeo Rocha’s legacy is one of steadfastness, skill, and service. He will be remembered by those who knew him for his unwavering dedication to his family, his work, and his country.
