Roy Kenneth Nowell

Name: Roy Kenneth Nowell Age: 89 Residing City: Corpus Christi, Texas. Passed Away: Sunday, 4/12/2026 peacefully at home.

He was born in Goldthwaite, Texas on 5/31/1936 to Roy Baird Nowell and Amy Clara (Lee) Nowell. He attended Goldthwaite High School and loved sports, most of all baseball. He then spent a short time in Austin Texas, attending school and working at HEB before being drafted into the U.S. Army where he spent 1 year stationed in post war Korea, and the remainder in the reserves.

He and his wife Gail followed his brother and his wife Sue to Corpus Christi in the early 60’s where he worked 35 years for Alphin Supply Company ending his career as President/Owner. After retirement, he worked 17 year in the hardware department at Sears.

Dad loved to read books, work crossword puzzles, and beginning with the Colt 45’s was a lifelong Houston Astro fan.

He is preceded in death by: Mom and Dad (Roy and Clara Nowell) Sister Melva Wheat and her husband Royce Brother Robert Earl Nowell and his wife Sue

Survived by: Wife, Deanna Gail Nowell (Featherston) his wife of 65 years Daughter, Sandra Brimhall and husband David, their two daughters Kendall Patricia Hickman and husband Carson, Kaycee Deanna Ellis and husband Zach, and great grandson due in September. Son, Roy Christopher Nowell. Brother, John Nowell and his wife Peggy, children Kevin, Jason and Amanda. Brother in Law Roger Featherston and his wife Donna, children Duane and Cindy Daughters of Robert and Sue Nowell, Tammy, Vicky, Salinda and Robbie Children of Royce and Melva Wheat, Royce Jr. and Belinda Many great Nieces and Nephews

Viewing will be held at Sawyer George, Funeral Home, 12497 Leopard Street, Corpus Christi Monday 4/20 1-3. Burial will be held at the Committal Pavilion, Coastal Bend Veterans Cemetery, 9974 Interstate 37, EXIT 9 in Corpus Christi, 11.am. Tuesday 4/21.
