After high school graduation, at the age of 20, Ruben started working in the oil rig industry for over 40 years. He was a dedicated, hardworking man. Ruben achieved his lifelong dream of owning a ranch, with a beautiful house on a vast expanse of land. He found immense joy sitting with Ida on their front porch in their rocking chairs, ringing the bell, soaking in the peaceful scenery, and watching his cows grazing under the warm sunshine. His heart was full as he watched his 4 dogs play in the water and laughed as they ran alongside the tractor and ATV. Ruben took great pride in his ranch, spending countless hours working outside in his barn, and reveling in the blooming wildflowers. He cherished the simple pleasures of watching cardinals, listening to the night owl, and appreciating the serene ranch scenery. His kindness, generosity, and strong friendships touched everyone who knew him. Ruben's legacy of hard work and love for his ranch will be remembered by all.
We extend our heartfelt gratitude to everyone who contributed to Ruben's health, healing, and happiness. A special acknowledgment goes to Rose and Ted Silva for their selfless sacrifice, unwavering love, and dedicated support. Their decision to provide full-time care for Ruben showcases the epitome of kindness and compassion. Our deepest gratitude also goes to BeBe and Marcell Bellfield for their support and selfless caretaking of Ruben.
Ruben also loved and looked forward to mom cooking his favorite foods (Conchita’s, Papa’s con carne & fideo). We are immensely grateful for their remarkable dedication and generosity.
Ruben was loved and respected by many and will be dearly missed. We have been blessed to love and be loved by him. We will miss his amazing eyes, sense of humor, beautiful smile, warm hugs, and constant encouragement. We celebrate that he is in the presence of God and reunited with loved ones.
