Sally Saenz

October 20, 1979 — April 6, 2023

Corpus Christi

Sally Delilah Saenz, 43, loving wife, mother, daughter, and granddaughter, was Heavenly embraced by Our Father on April 6, 2023. She was born on October 20, 1979, in Corpus Christi, Texas, to Yolanda Casarez and Gilbert Sanchez.

Her father, Gilbert Sanchez, and infant son, Levi Walker Saenz, preceded her in death.

Sally grew up in Corpus Christi and attended Tuloso-Midway schools. She graduated from Tuloso-Midway High School in 1997. Sally worked as a Paraprofessional for Calallen ISD and a US Postal Worker. In addition, she actively volunteered at her children's schools and Oil Belt Little League as a Coach and Team Mom.

Left to cherish her beautiful memory are her parents, Michael and Yolanda Goynes of George West, Texas; her loving husband, Daniel Saenz Jr.; her children, Brendon Elijah Saenz, Roberto Reynaldo Antonio "Beau" Saenz, Eliza Camille Saenz, Daniel Saenz, III, Lucas Wade Saenz, Brielle Victoria Saenz, Eli Jacobi Saenz, and step-daughter; Vivian Danell Saenz. Her grandmother, Maximina Rodriguez of George West; her grandparents, Nicolas and Maggie Casarez of Petronilla and her in-laws, Daniel and Lydia Saenz of Corpus Christi. Her sisters-in-law, Sandra DeLaZerda (Mike) and Blanca Tagle (Fernando), and her brother-in-law, Ray Saenz (Irma), and numerous nieces and nephews as well as other family members and friends.

Sally and Daniel married on February 14, 2001. They were devoted partners and worked as a team to raise their children. Before her death, they were co-coaching their youngest son, Eli's coach pitch baseball team, The Biscuits. Sally and Daniel looked forward to the games and all the guaranteed laughs. They also enjoyed watching their youngest daughter, Brielle play coach pitch softball as she would hustle on the field with her team, Pink Chaos. This spring, they enjoyed seeing their son, Lucas, suit up for Calallen baseball as a freshman. They were excited for their son, Daniel III, to be a junior next year at Calallen HS. Daniel and Sally also looked forward to guiding their oldest children, Buddy, Beau, and Eliza, as they became young adults. Daniel will greatly miss Sally, the love of his life and his life partner.

Sally's calling in life was to be a wife and Mother. She devoted herself to her children and chose her occupation so that she could spend more time with them. She was their biggest fan and fiercest advocate. Sally believed in being a hands-on parent and attended as many parties and programs as possible. She knew her children like the back of her hand and could see when one needed a little extra love. She was their mom first, and as they grew older, she became their friend.

Sally was an only child and adored her parents. She always looked forward to seeing them at the kid's baseball games or events and loved spending weekends and holidays with them in George West. There was rarely a game or event that her parents didn’t attend. Last summer, they drove across Texas and the US following the Oil Belt Junior League Allstars to the World Series in Michigan. Daniel and Buddy were coaches, and Lucas played for the team. It was a real family affair. She was so happy that her parents could be there with them. Her parents will miss her dearly.

Sally was a great listener and gave awesome hugs. She was generous with her compliments and her laughter. She had a smile that would light up a room. Sally had a strong faith in the Lord. Knowing this gives us strength and courage as we learn how to navigate our lives without her. We are sad and miss her terribly, but we will trust in the Lord and know we will be together again one day.
