Sally Lee Jones

Sally Lee Jones, 78, peacefully left us to be with our Lord and Savior on Tuesday, February 15, 2022.

She was preceded by her parents, Gordon Glessner and Claretta (Busse) Glessner; her brother, Gary “Butch” Glessner, and 4 great-grandchildren. She is survived by her husband of 59 years, Fred Jones; one sister, Janice (Gary) Sage; her sons, Howard (Connie) Jones, Tom (Pam) Jones, and Roger (Mary) Jones; 12 grandchildren; and 21 great-grandchildren.

She had several careers throughout her life - a substitute teacher, bookkeeper, apartment manager, and caretaker of family. Her first and most important role throughout her life was as a servant of God. Her kind and giving nature led to her to be a member of the Red Hat Society, and as a volunteer at West Guth Senior Center. Her family will always remember her as an avid player of Skip-Bo, UNO, and Phase 10, and was often caught cheating. She loved hummingbirds, butterflies, bluebonnets, her cats and dogs. She will be sorely missed by all who knew and loved her.

Viewing will be on Wednesday, February 23 at St. John Lutheran Church in Robstown at 9 a.m., immediately followed by a celebration of life at 11 a.m. Interment will follow at 1 p.m. at Veterans Cemetery. Family and friends will gather afterwards at the home of Howard and Connie Jones.
