Sandra Gayle Burton

Sandra Gayle Burton passed away in Odem, Texas, on February 25, 2022. She was 78 years old.

Sandra is survived by her husband of 56 years, Virgil Burton, as well as her older brother and his wife, John and Linda McDonald, and their children Corey, Donny, Michelle, and Alicia, as well as a host of great-nieces, nephews, and cousins. Sandra was affectionately known as Aunt Sandra to all her family.

She is preceded in death by her loving parents John and Annie McDonald.

Sandra was born on December 9, 1944, in Brownwood TX to John and Annie L (Wallace) McDonald. She graduated from Ray High School in Corpus Christi TX in 1963. She was crowned Queen of the Buccaneer Parade in 1965. She married Virgil Burton on December 30, 1966.

A visitation will be held on Monday, March 7, 2022 from 5PM – 8PM at Sawyer-George Funeral Home. The funeral will be on Tuesday,  March 8, 2022 at 12PM at Bible Believers Baptist Church, located at 1701 Rand Morgan Road, in Corpus Christi. Her brother, Pastor John McDonald will officiate the ceremony. She will be buried at Cenizo Hill Cemetery in Mathis.
