Sheri Lynn Jurecek

Mar 1, 1968 — May 16, 2026

Robstown

Sheri Lynn Jurecek, lived a life defined by strength, devotion, and a deep, unwavering faith in God and love for her family.Born March 1, 1968, in San Diego, California to Thomas Shock and Sandra Wilmon, passed away surrounded by the love of her family on May 16, 2026.

Sheri spent her childhood in the Rio Grande Valley, where her family bred, raised and trained quarter horses. Horses were a critical part of her life from an early age, and anyone who knew her knew about her heart horse, Wimpy, a big black gelding won from the King Ranch. That horse held a special place in her heart and helped spark a lifelong love of horses and rodeo.

Sheri was a talented barrel racer and carried that passion throughout her life. Her love of horses eventually became something she shared with her daughter, spending countless hours training and teaching her to run barrels, passing down the sport she enjoyed so deeply.

On June 6, 1987, Sheri married the love of her life, Bryan Jurecek. Over four decades together, they built a life rooted in faith, commitment, perseverance, and love. Their marriage was always strong, and they chose each other day after day. Together, they showed their children what real love and an enduring marriage looks like.

To those who knew her best, she will always be remembered as one of the strongest women they have ever met. Her strength was not only physical, but mental and emotional as well. Through every season of life, she carried herself with resilience, determination, and a presence that anchored the people around her. Where life brought chaos, she brought steadiness, making sure everything happened when and how it needed to for the people she cared for.

While she had many interests, she would always say her greatest blessing and most important role in life was being a mother. She poured her heart into raising her children, Leslie and Ty, and was involved in everything they did. Whether it was athletics or livestock shows, she was always there. At track meets and sporting events, she could be heard cheering from across the field, her voice unmistakable and full of pride. One of her greatest joys was watching her children raise and show pigs at the Nueces County Junior Livestock Show, where their hard work and dedication made her incredibly proud.

Later in life, she welcomed her children's spouses, Chase Sanders and Heather Jurecek, into the family with open arms and found great happiness in growing her family even larger. But nothing compared to the bliss she found in becoming a grandmother. Her grandchildren, Jackson, Amelia, and Weston, brought her immeasurable joy and a peace that lit up her entire world.

And anyone who knew Sheri, also knew about Avery, her beloved white lab, her constant companion, who held a special place in her heart and home.

Her family was the great love of her life, and she loved them with her whole heart. The strength and devotion she gave them will continue to guide and carry them forward for generations to come.

Sheri is preceded in death by her grandparents, Thomas and Cordelia Shock and Oren and Violet Lierman and her father-in-law Adolph Jurecek.

She is survived by her husband, Bryan Jurecek, children Leslie Sanders [Chase], Ross Ty Jurecek [Heather], her grandchildren, Jackson, Amelia, and Weston, her parents Thomas Shock and Sandra Wilmon, sister Sloan Shock, brother, Doug Shock, and numerous nieces, nephews, extended family, and friends who will miss her immensely.
