Steve Livingston passed away on November 2nd, 2025. Survivors include his wife of 61 years, Anita; his sons Alan and Clinton, a daughter, Megan; also a daughter-in-law, Lucia, 3 grandchildren, a brother-in-law, Kenneth, Walker, and 2 nephews.

Stephen Douglas Livingston was born on May 5, 1942, to Jack A. Livingston and Grace L. Livingston in Indianapolis, IN. He attended the public schools of Speedway, IN, and graduated in 1960. He continued his education at Purdue University and earned a Master of Science degree in Agronomy.

He graduated with the rank of Lieutenant in the US Army and proceeded to be trained as a helicopter pilot and serve as commander of a transportation unit in the Vietnam conflict.

After his active Army duty, Steve resumed his education at the University of Tennessee and earned a Ph.D. in Soil Science.

Moving his family with Anita, and 3 children to Missouri, he started his professional career as a Crops Specialist at the State University.

During these years, Steve began to serve in the local Baptist church wherever he lived as a Sunday School teacher and counselor, in Missouri he made the commitment to be a deacon and also joined the Gideons Bible Assembly, helping to furnish Bibles to many people.

He also continued his military career in the Army Reserve and flew the required hours to maintain his pilot's license.

After 10 years, Steve accepted a job with Texas A&M as an extension specialist, working with farmers and seed companies and conducting field research to improve farming production in several regions of South TX.

He retired from the Army Reserve in the 1990's with the rank of Brigadier General.

Steve was always interested in history, especially the history of Native Americans, and collected artifacts beginning in his childhood in Indiana. He used his knowledge of Roman history in his Biblical dramas, and he and his sons participated in several Renaissance fairs, wearing authentic Roman armor. He also built an excellent library of history books and Bible commentaries.

He continued his Christian service as a Sunday School Teacher and Deacon and was studying toward a seminary degree. He loved music and formed a men's gospel singing group and also wrote and directed several Biblical dramas for his church.

Steve was a Godly man who loved his family and friends and had the heart of an evangelist.

In place of flowers, the family requests donations to the missionary efforts of your choice or to the Alzheliemr's Research Association.

A remembrance service will be held at Sawyer George Funeral Home in Annaville on Saturday, January 31 st 2026, at 2:30 pm
