Sylvester Schwirtlich

Sylvester Schwirtlich passed away peacefully on December 2, 2018. He was born in Windthorst, Texas to parents, Joseph and Otilia Schwirtlich on April 23, 1923. At the age of five, he moved along with his parents to Violet, Texas where he helped his parents and siblings on the farm. Sylvester worked for and retired from Champlain Refinery. After retiring, he enjoyed RV traveling. He and his wife were active members in the RV Recreational Club. He also enjoyed gardening and repairing small motors. He could grow fresh vegetables which he would give to family members and friends. He also would help out those that needed a small motor fixed or needed some welding done. Sylvester was preceded in death by his wife, Kathleen; his parents, Joseph and Otilia Schwirtlich; six brothers; four sisters; and son-in-law, John. Sylvester is survived by his daughter, Judy Foster; grandson, John T. Foster, Jr.; great grandchildren, Jack Foster and Kate Foster; one sister, Rosalie Frantz; many nieces and nephews. Visitation will be from 4 P.M. until 7 P.M. Sunday, December 9, 2018 with the Rosary to be recited at 7 P.M. at Sawyer-George Funeral Home Chapel. Funeral Mass will be celebrated at 10 A.M. Monday, December 10, 2018 at St. Thomas the Apostle Catholic Church with burial to follow at Robstown Memorial Park Cemetery.
