Tamara Renee Smith Wilson
Corpus Christi- Tamara Renee Smith Wilson, age 49, was called home into the arms of Jesus on Tuesday, May 12, 2026.
Tamara was born March 13, 1977 in Corpus Christi, Texas to parents Charles Nolan Smith and Lisa Brown Smith. She attended Tuloso-Midway where she was active in sports and was an especially talented cheerleader. She went on to attend Del Mar College in Corpus Christi, Texas where she received her Associate’s Degree in Dental Assisting, a profession where she excelled and enjoyed working with patients. While pursuing her academic studies and working part-time at Catfish Charlie’s, she met and fell in love with her husband, Joey Wilson. Together they had the experience of living in six different states while her husband proudly served our country, and made a career in the United States Navy. They also welcomed two beautiful children, Hallie and Hayden.
Tamara was funny and had a great sense of humor. She was very creative and crafty, and used to make the most beautiful bows for her daughter. She also loved to share that one of her favorite childhood memories was getting to run the module builder during summer harvest time for her father. She loved spending time scrap booking, watching comedies and game shows, and showing her competitive nature while playing games with family and friends.
She is preceded in death by her grandparents, Herman and Peggy Brown and George and Faye Smith.
Tamara is survived by her husband of 28 years, Joey Wilson, her two children, Hallie Alexis (Jaime) Wilson, and Hayden Garrett Wilson, her grandson Dawson James Perez, her parents, her four siblings, Dacia, Kaley, Jace, and Brenna, along with a host of nieces and nephews.
